Dress Code

In order to help members and visitors to comply with the Eaton Golf Club dress code guidelines are given below for men. All members and visitors have a responsibility to ensure that they observe this dress code.

On the Course

Collared shirts (inc. roll neck & mock shirts) 
Long Trousers 
Golf shoes 
Tailored shorts with knee-length hose in any 

colour or plain white sports socks

Un-collared shirts 
Shirt not tucked into trousers 

Blue denim jeans 
Tracksuits/Shell suits 
Sports/Beach shorts 
Three quarter cut-off shorts 
Army/combat shorts/trousers 
Trainers/non golf footwear 
Trousers tucked into socks 
Caps worn other than facing front

In The Clubhouse

As above before 7pm 
After 7pm smart casual in the dining 
room unless otherwise stated. 
Golf footwear permitted only in the spike bar 
and changing room.

As above plus 
Golf footwear in the lounge and dining room. 
Wet or soiled clothing in lounge/dining room. 
Un-socked feet.


ladies dress code

All of these are accepted attire to be worn on the golf course. Your attention is drawn to the required length of shorts/skirts, just above the knee.

The rolling over of shorts to shorten them is not acceptable.

Please note that long baggy tee shirts are not permitted to be worn outside your trousers/shorts.

Only recognisable golfing attire is acceptable.


General Information

Suspension of Play
If, for whatever reason, play is suspended, ONE LONG SIREN BLAST will be sounded. All players must discontinue play immediately. Players must mark their ball positions and then return to the Clubhouse. The siren will sound TWO SHORT BLASTS when play is able to resume.

Mobile Phones / Music Systems
Use of mobile phones and music systems is banned in the Clubhouse, on the Patio Area and on the Golf Course. Phones may be used in the Locker rooms and in the Car Park.

Clubhouse Facilities
Eaton Golf Club is proud of its fine Clubhouse which offers full bar and catering facilities.

Catering packages are on offer for Visiting Parties. The menu is available from the office or on our website. Choice of menus should be communicated to the caterer at least 14 days prior to the Society Day on 01244 335313.

A full rage of equipment is available from the shop as are professional services including tuition.

Smoking is permissible on the patio area only.

It is a condition that all golfers must be insured against Third Party Liability.

Any member or visitor refusing to comply with the Eaton Golf Club regulations may be asked to leave the premises.


At Eaton, we are very proud of our course and clubhouse and would appreciate visitors complying with our dress code.

As is customary in most golf clubs, certain items of clothing are not permitted either on or off the course or in the clubhouse.
