Visit with PLC to CDFB

On Thursday, 26th October a small group of ladies visited the new premisses of Chester & District Federation of the Blind.

An industrial hangar has been converted into purpose -made premises. There is a large hall for functions and activities such as indoor bowls, a craft room for such crafts as clay modelling and a snug where we enjoyed tea and cakes.

There is also a kitchen which serves the weekly lunch club amongst other things.

Outside is a garden area with raised beds for visitors to grow vegetables or flowers,

One third of the building is devoted to all the incoming articles which are sorted to be sold in the 2 charity shops. These bring in a considerable income for the charity.

Our contribution last year went towards the central heating.

All the ladies very much enjoyed their visit. If you missed it and would like to go, see Mary Thorp, PLC
