Course open, winter rules, preferred lies.

September 21st

No stimp today - weather was too poor, and any reading obtained would have been fairly meaningless, especially coming on the  back of a successful week’s fairly fundamental work on the greens.  Gavin got a heavy load of dressing down, following hollow tining and scarifying, which will help reduce the organic content of the surface layers.

They are growing well, no doubt due to the heavy applications of natural water this week - 32 mm of rain on Thursday alone.  The rain will have washed the dressing well down into the surface.  Inevitably, the bunkers washed in.

Reminder:  7th/8th pond work starts next Monday.
