Course open, winter rules, preferred lies.

Last week’s stimp was done by Keith and Ian - many thanks. 

The final result of the year was 9’ 1”, the same as the season’s average, just beating the club target of 9’.  (See second chart).

Following the extensive work done on the greens they were not rolled until Friday morning - the rollers were picking up too much loose dressing previously.

That is the last stimp of the year, at the end of the summer competition season.  We once stimped all winter but soon realised we were getting the same result week after week - because the grass had stopped growing.  We resume at the beginning of May.

Cutting height has been lifted to 4mm.  We are settling in for winter…..
