The greens were given a short rest after the County Stroke-play last weekend, then it was back to routine summer maintenance, albeit with one eye on the upcoming Club Championships.   Greens did have a light liquid feed plus spot treatment for Dry Patch, along with daily cutting and rolling.  It was drizzling gently on Friday when the speed was measured.  The result was 9’ 6” - surface moisture slows things down appreciably.

With new holes needing to be cut before play on both mornings for the Club Championships, the course team will be in extra early again Saturday and Sunday.  Despite the overtime it’s still a punishingly early start - there are times when we do ask a lot of our greens staff.
