FOUNDERS DAY MEDAL AND DINNER
WEDNESDAY 11 TH JUNE 2008
This day is an annual celebration of the founding of Eaton Golf Club at its new location in June 1993. It is one of our most prestigious golfing events in the year and is competed for most fervently.
The deserving winner this year was Pat Clay with a score of net 69.
Pat made a heartfelt acceptance speech at the Dinner and was obviously a popular winner.

NSPCC CHARITY COMPETITION
WEDNESDAY 18 TH JUNE 2008
4BBB STABLEFORD
This competition was originally scheduled for the
28 th May but the weather had other ideas and ‘rain stopped play'. In fact play never started.
However - although the re-run date of the 18 th June was still a bit grey - we managed to field 29 teams and entry money plus donations meant that £210 was sent to this most worthwhile charity.
The Qualifiers go forward to the next round on 20 th August at Pleasington Golf Course near Blackburn; but we have a slight hiccup here as this is also the date of our 2 nd Ladies Invitation Day so we are struggling at the moment to find a ‘team'. It's a case of “watch this space”.
LADY
CAPTAIN'S DAY
WEDNESDAY 25 TH JUNE 2008
Lady Captain, Mrs Ruth Aitkenhead, greeted all ladies at the first tee and with a field of 87 entrants that meant a long day. She was, however, ably abetted by her husband Jim who took all photographs promising to ‘air brush' where necessary. Lady Captain's daughters were also stalwart at the 10 th tee providing a much appreciated glass of Pimms for all contestants.
The competition was a Team of Three Stableford, with two best scores to count plus a ‘longest drive', ‘nearest the pin' and 9-hoe putting competition to add extra interest. In spite of rather high winds the scores were most satisfactory.
And the Prize Winners were:-

Judi Sunter, Hilary Watson and Pauline Wilson |
89 pts |
