SPONSORS
Sponsors must be a member of the club and should have been a shareholder member for at least one year. The sponsor must know the candidate personally.
Two sponsors are required, however, it is not normally appropriate for more than one sponsor to be a spouse, partner or colleague in the same company as the applicant.
If you are in doubt as to the correct procedure or whether it is appropriate for you to act as a sponsor, please consult the club Secretary Mrs. Kerry Brown on 01244 335885.
Sponsors are asked to remember that they have a responsibility to the new member, following election, to play golf with and or introduce him/her to other club members.
Sponsors should also ensure that the applicant is aware of and abides by club customs, rules, byelaws written and unwritten and general etiquette.
If there is no sponsor then the club can consider a written recommendation from a former golf club or from another recognized sporting club .

ELECTION PROCESS
Applications are referred to the Membership Committee, which meets candidates at an early opportunity. The candidate's name is placed on the club notice board for a minimum period of fourteen days. The Membership Committee finally decides on admission to membership of the club. The Secretary will then contact successful applicants regarding joining details and the purchase of shares.
